I don't understand why

I don't understand how

You make me feel ecstatic

You make me feel happy and loved

You changed my perspective of life

People, love, and myself

You built me up

Just to bring me down

And the worst part

I don't even think you realize

You told me not to get attached

But how can I not?

When you treat me better

Better than I am used to

You showed me something new

It's my fault

That I let you make me feel this way

That I let myself be too happy

That I let you be my source of escape

Escape from the troubles I had

But now your insensitivity is causing

Pain and anxiety

Now all I feel is regret and confusion

I care too much about not making you feel bad

I want it all to end
